THE BEGINNING
In November 2, 2011, a number of migrant BCBP members, mostly from Cagayan de Oro and Iligan, met with Bro. Louie Morales and Alex Espiritu to start the BCBP Breakfast. The BCBP members were; John Aquino, Nonoy Locop, Art Neri, Chito Talaboc, Gilbert Uy. THE BREAKFAST
The first BCBP Men’s Breakfast was held in January 14, 2012. A total of (20) twenty men attended, with (10) ten first timers. The sharer was Jimmy Castro from the BCBP Alabang Chapter. The breakfast became a monthly event held every 2nd Saturday of the month, mostly a men’s breakfast. Average attendance is 15 men, with 5 first timers. Only two joint breakfasts were held in 2012. In 2013, most breakfasts were held as joint breakfast in preparation for the planned BCLP1. Average attendance during the joint breakfasts was 46 individuals – 28 men and 18 women. At present, we the BCBP Breakfast is held every 2nd Saturday and 4th Sunday of each month at the Tierras Colombianas Restaurant - 54-08 Roosevelt Ave. Queens Blvd, Woodside, NY 1137. MISSION ACTIVITIES
The first BCLP was conducted on July 27, 2013. Succeeding BCLPs were conducted yearly. To date 2018 , total number of graduates from the (6) six BCLP's are now 73 members. BCLP-1 (#19), BCLP-2 (#9), BCLP-3 (#12), BCLP-4 (#9), BCLP-5 (#12), BCLP-6 (#12). In 2015 (2) two BCBP Mission sites were open by BCBP NYC – BCBP New Jersey Mission and BCBP Metro Washington DC Mission. Both mission sites hold monthly joint breakfast meetings. Later in October of the same year, during the BCBP MANCOM visit, BCBP NYC Mission was formally elevated as an outreach and the governance team formally installed. |
